CPI training in schools is a program designed to equip educators and staff with strategies to prevent and de-escalate disruptive or potentially harmful behaviors. The training emphasizes proactive techniques to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment. CPI focuses on recognizing early warning signs, effective communication, and non-violent crisis intervention methods. It also includes strategies for safely managing physical aggression, when necessary, with an emphasis on reducing the need for physical intervention.
Attendance in this event does not provide evidence of mastery. CPI courses must be taught by a Certified Instructor licensed by CPI. Materials will be provided on the day of the training. The AEA receives funding through the Children''s Mental Health Grant to help provide CPI training at no cost to teachers in our area.
